Candidate Education
The Children's Campaign Fund Action is excited to launch our candidate education efforts focused on early care and education! Through LEAP (Legislator Education and Action Project) and our statewide poll conducted with MomsRising and One America, we are excited to provide candidates high-quality information on early care and education.
LEAP: Legislator Education and Action Project
The Legislator Education and Action Project (LEAP) is presented in partnership by the Association of Washington Business Institute and Children's Campaign Fund Action. Through this dynamic new collaboration, we are facilitating education across the aisle to state legislators, their staff, and other key advocates on the importance of early childhood public policy - including child care and early learning - through a multi-channel education program. We're proud to leverage the expertise and resources of our two respected organizations which share a vision where Washington’s children, families, and businesses can thrive.
Poll on Early Learning
CCFA is partnering with MomsRising and One America Votes to launch a poll on child care, develop a shared platform, and organize debriefs with gubernatorial and state legislative candidates on child care. CCFA will share the results of this poll with gubernatorial candidates, state legislative candidates, and the media. CCFA will also work in collaboration with other influential partners, such as Child Care Aware of Washington, to build a political movement to advance legislation to pass a living wage for child care providers and a plan for all Washingtonians to have access to affordable child care.
Connecting with Constituents
Part of our new education efforts is focused on connecting candidates from all parties with constituents with personal connections to childcare and early learning. This could take the forms of invitations to tour childcare facilities or a conversations with folks such as parents, childcare providers, and business owners. We are excited to continue developing the community organizing side of our program and emphasizing the voices in our Washington communities.
