The House just passed HB 1370 which makes critical updates to the Early Learning Facilities Fund. An amendment was included to rename the fund’s accounts after former Rep. Ruth Kagi, CCF’s co-chair and game-changing champion for children, youth, and families. We can’t think of a better way to honor such a powerful legacy, and are thrilled to share these clips of the celebration from the floor debate.

Congratulations, Ruth — and THANK YOU for all that you do for Washington’s kids!

The Fair Start for Kids act is a multifaceted approach to solving the #childcarecrisis in our state. This bill would make childcare affordable, increase access, and restart our state’s economy. We are thrilled to see CCF-endorsed candidates working tirelessly to pass this important bill. Special shout-outs to Senators Claire Wilson, T’wina Nobles, and Senate Majority Leader Andy Billig for their powerful words on the Senate floor.
