CCF Endorses Rep. Gregory
On September 25, 2015, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to endorse Rep. Carol Gregory for 30th Legislative District.
“This is a tight race and we’re thrilled to be able to offer our support,” said David Beard, CCF board member. “Gregory is great on children’s issues, particularly education. She’s solid on supporting the resources necessary for adequately funding children’s issues.”
Gregory represents the 30th Legislative District, which includes Federal Way, Des Moines, Milton, Algona, Pacific and part of Auburn. She was appointed to her seat in the House of Representatives in January 2015.
Gregory has been a champion for children and education leader in Washington for more than four decades. Starting as a classroom teacher in 1965 and most recently as the president of the Federal Way School Board.
During a long career in public service she has worked in a number of other education and public policy positions, including stints as a policy analyst for Gov. Booth Gardner and assistant to the state superintendent of public instruction. She served as president of the Washington Education Association, and is a graduate of the University of Washington.
In her next term, she looks forward to helping to alleviate children’s hunger, continuing to work to ensure that the state has adequate resources to fund high-quality children’s programming, and helping the legislature’s fulfill it’s obligation to fully fund schools.
“She has proven her commitment to working to address challenges, such as poverty, that affect children and families. She clearly understands how these challenges have deep effects on outcomes,” said Allison Krutsinger CCF board member.
